Ion Partners, LLC manages the Ion Partners Alpha L. P. hedge fund. Carl (Tom) Hallen is Managing Partner of Ion Partners, LLC. 

Mr. Hallen began his investment career as an analyst at The Duke Endowment in Charlotte, North Carolina in October 1989. He managed their Large Capitalization Core equity portfolio beginning in January 1999 and managed the Tactical Core Equity portfolios (approximately $100 million in assets) at Pacific Income Advisers in Santa Monica, California from March 2000 through December 2004. He managed the Santa Monica Partners hedge fund from March 2004 through April 2005.

Mr. Hallen holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Massachusetts.
